House Wrap

Depending on where you live, you may get house wrap that looks like one of those emergency space blankets.  I got to see the package up close tonight, so here's more info if you are wondering what it is:  http://www.low-e.com/products/products_view.php?Product=Low-E%20Housewrap.

  1. WOW! That is a totally different wrap that we have on our house. Each state and community has there own materials and system. It still amazes me! There is also a water wrap blanket for your water heater that one of our fellow bloggers recommended. He has some exciting things on his blog. Check him out at Ravenna Speed (Thomas). Check out Julie or Amanda's page for the exact blog address that have all the blogs listed on a tab on their blog.

    1. Yes, and even within the same state I have seen different wrap on the houses. It's kind of surprising. Thanks for the references!

  2. We got the same wrap on our house. We were told it is one of the products that they use for their newest energy star rating... I can't remember what the energy star rating version number is though.

    1. It's for Energy Star 3.0. Anything that will potentially decrease my energy bills is alright with me!

  3. I've noticed the metallic wrap in photos and figured it was some sort of radiant barrier, and I was going to ask my PM about it, but we were on the road for thanksgiving and he said our siding was going up. So far the wrap we've seen in person is white with Ryan printing.
