Moving in

Three days, four truckloads, five moving men, and countless hours later, the stuff is all in! Our current decor is a sea of cardboard. I can't help but wonder how long it's going to take to get some semblance of organization in this house. It's overwhelming...there just isn't enough time in the day (or energy) to do what we want. Maybe by summer we will be finished unpacking. LOL I can't even begin to think about decorating. I am definitely looking forward to getting our house in order!

  5. Congratulations and enjoy settling into your new home - yes, boxes and all :)

Like others have said, even though it may seem overwhelming now I'm sure it will work out nicely.

  6. unpacking can be great and tiring. Consider making it slightly easier. When a box is empty, flatten it and stack them. Then facebook or craigslist free cardboard boxes. You will have them picked up and gone within 24 hours. Beats dealing with pitching them yourselves and helps someone else out.
    good luck.

  7. Our unpacking was surprisingly simple because we got rid of 2/3 of our stuff before moving. Then, I insisted each box come through the garage door and kitchen. I put things away as they were being brought in the house. It was butt-kicking work, but it was worth it because once we were moved in we were all moved in. No garage half full of boxes to be unpacked. Of course, the garage is nearly half full of nonsense right now, but when working weather gets here I'll be outside dealing with it.

  8. How is the unpacking? I finally finished unpacking the 2000 books we own for our Library in the Loft! I called our county recycle department and they pick up boxes and other stuff every Monday so we don't need to make appointments. They are also providing us with our new Recycle Bin for free.

    1. It's coming along slowly. We have the bedrooms unpacked for the most part. The kitchen is good to go. The rest is still there staring me down. Uhhhhhh. It will happen eventually. It's tough when we are working full time. Glad to hear all those books are unpacked! Yay for reading!!
